Online Driver CPC E-Learning for Bus and Coach Drivers

Shift patterns in the bus and coach industry do not run nine to five, and neither does our e-learning platform. Our JAUPT-approved Driver CPC e-learning modules are available around the clock, so your drivers can study at a time that suits them, whether that is between shifts, on rest days, or at any other time that fits around their schedule.

Each module uses interactive content including video, quizzes, and scenario-based learning designed with passenger transport in mind. Drivers work through the material at their own pace, and modules can be paused and resumed as many times as needed.

How It Works

Once enrolled, your drivers get access to our online learning platform. They can log in at any time, day or night, from any device with an internet connection. There are no scheduled sessions to attend and no need to coordinate with a trainer. Each module is self-contained, using a combination of video content, interactive presentations, quizzes, and knowledge checks to build understanding.

Modules can be paused at any point and resumed later, which makes them practical for drivers who may only have short windows of time available between duties. Completed hours are automatically uploaded to DVSA records because we are a JAUPT-approved provider.

How Does E-Learning Fit into Driver CPC?

Under International CPC rules, a maximum of 12 hours out of the 35-hour periodic training requirement can be completed via e-learning. The remaining 23 hours must be delivered through trainer-led sessions, either in person or via live remote delivery. Under National CPC (the new UK-only route introduced in December 2024), there is greater flexibility in how online training is structured, including the option for shorter modules of 3.5 hours.

E-learning is designed to work alongside trainer-led training, not to replace it entirely. The most effective approach is to use e-learning for knowledge-based topics such as road safety, drivers' hours regulations, and fuel efficiency, while reserving trainer-led sessions (whether in person or live remote) for practical and discussion-based topics like passenger safety, emergency evacuation, and conflict management.

Why Choose Total Compliance for E-Learning?

Our e-learning platform is specifically designed for professional drivers, with content that is relevant to the passenger transport sector rather than generic compliance training. The platform is straightforward to use, works on computers, laptops, and tablets, and does not require any specialist software. We also offer trainer-led Driver CPC courses via live remote delivery and in person, so we can help you build a complete training plan that covers the full 35-hour requirement using the right mix of self-paced and live delivery.
