Our Abrasive Wheels Safety Course is a 1/2 day session tailored for a maximum of 10 candidates. We offer both onsite training at your premises and sessions held at your premises.

- Understanding burst wheels and their causes
- Maximum speed of wheels and machines
- Importance of protective clothing and equipment
- Utilising audio visuals for enhanced learning
- Proper storage of wheels
- Selecting appropriate wheels for specific applications
- Essential checks required for wheels and machines
- Correct mounting techniques for wheels
- Safely operating machines and wheels
- Ensuring a safe working environment around cutting/grinding areas
- Employer's checklist for compliance
- Specialised abrasives such as diamond wheels and drill bits (if required)
- Question paper to assess knowledge retention

Legal Requirements for Training

In accordance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER98), it is mandatory for all individuals operating abrasive wheel equipment to receive adequate training. Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations states that employers must ensure their employees have received training that covers health and safety methods, associated risks, and necessary precautions.
