DVSA Earned Recognition
What is DVSA Earned Recognition?
DVSA earned recognition for vehicle operators is a way to prove your organisation meets driver and vehicle standards.
You regularly share performance information with DVSA in the form of a monthly report. In return, your vehicles are less likely to be stopped for inspections.
It’s a voluntary scheme that’s designed to work for operators of all sizes.
Why has DVSA Earned Recognition been introduced?
Roadside checks cost you time and money, and so DVSA don't want to target safe and responsible operators unnecessarily.
DVSA want to target inspections and disruptive roadside checks at those most likely to be a danger to your safety. This will help them to stop operators and drivers deliberately putting others at risk.
How does DVSA Earned Recognition Work?
You need to have IT systems for vehicle maintenance and drivers' hours. These will monitor if you are meeting a set of key performance indicators (KPI's). These are in line with your Operator Licence requirements anyway and so this is not difficult to achieve if you are compliant.
