FORS Training Focus

FORS – SUD

FORS Safe Urban Driving is a program designed to improve the safety of urban driving for commercial and non-commercial vehicle operators. It teaches drivers the principles of the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of their vehicles, taking into account the different needs of urban areas. The program covers a range of topics, including vehicle safety and maintenance, driver awareness, route planning, and environmental considerations. It also provides guidance on the legal obligations of vehicle operators in urban areas.

FORS Lo-CITY

The FORS LO-City driving course is a qualification scheme designed to help professional drivers improve their fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The course covers topics such as route planning, fuel-efficient driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, and use of technology. It is designed to help drivers reduce their environmental impact, as well as their operational costs.  This is a requirement of the FORS Gold level of accreditation.

Group e-learning

FORS offer a great range of e-learning modules for continual development and these are a requirement for the FORS Bronze and FORS Silver levels of the accreditation.  However, sometimes it is easier to deliver these as a group rather than for each individual to complete their own.  This can save time, technical issues and engage drivers further with having a trainer in front of them.

We have delivered lots of group delivery of e-learning.  The method of delivering e-learning content to a group of learners at the same time has helped companies mainly with large numbers of drivers. This could include online remote classroom delivery or in-person and can include other interactive activities.

OLAT (Operator Licence Awareness Training)

Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT) is a course designed to provide drivers, vehicle operators and fleet managers with the knowledge and understanding they need to comply with the Operator Licencing requirements of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). The course covers the responsibilities and obligations of an operator, the transport manager and drivers and the consequences of non-compliance.

This course is done 5 yearly and is for the responsible person under M3 of the FORS Standard, if the person is not a qualified transport manager.

Transport Manager Refresher Training

If the company has a CPC qualified transport manager, this would be the responsible person in the company and they are required to complete a 5 yearly refresher course.

This course is a training course designed to help transport managers stay up to date with regulations and industry best practices. It is taken by those who already have a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) but need to keep their knowledge and qualifications up to date (not only for FORS). The course may cover a range of topics, including legal considerations, financial management and customer service.
