General Driver CPC Courses – Modular, 7 Hour and Bespoke

Driver CPC periodic training is a requirement for all professional drivers in the UK. This training is designed to ensure that all drivers meet the minimum safety standards required by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

The training is also designed to help drivers develop their skills and knowledge, to ensure that they are competent to drive safely and efficiently.

Drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years in order to remain qualified to drive professionally.

So what types of driver CPC should your driver do and why?

When considering the courses for your drivers it is important to get a variety whilst ensuring relevance to their role.

We have tried to develop a variety of driver CPC courses, from 10 modules where companies can pick the 2 topics most relevant to the drivers at the time of training, to bespoke courses that are written for specific companies and we can then deliver them to their drivers only.

Modular courses cover topics likeā€¦

Drivers Health & Well-being

Drivers Hours, WTD and Tachograph

Urban and Rural Driving

Safe Loading

STGO and Abnormal Loads

Vehicle Marshall & Banksman

Accidents, Incidents & Breakdowns

Highway Code

TASCC (Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops)

Safe Urban Driving (Theory Only)

Other courses we offer are 7-hour courses to support companies with their accreditations like FORS and the need to have the Safe Urban Driving or Lo-CITY courses, to OLAT for Drivers to support companies and the overall understanding and importance of operator licensing at all levels.

It is also key to plan to ensure that the compulsory courses fit into the training plans for the drivers that keep your business up to date.

One of the most popular courses recently has been the 7-hour First Aid for Drivers Course.  A 1 day first aid training course which is important to ensure that everyone has the necessary knowledge to respond to any emergency situation. It provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide basic life support in the event of an accident or medical emergency.

First aid training can be the difference between life and death, so it is vital that everyone has the basic knowledge and skills to provide help in any situation. This training is also required in many workplaces to ensure that all drivers and staff have the necessary skills to respond to any roadside or medical emergency.
