More than a quarter of all road traffic incidents involve someone who is driving as part of their work at the time, according to the Department for Transport figures.
Health and safety law applies to work activities on the road in the same way as it does to all work activities and so this means that you need to manage risks to drivers as part of your company’s health and safety arrangements.
Risks can be minimised by putting a fleet risk management scheme in place which is bespoke so made to suit your fleet size, vehicles and drivers. This can be for vehicles owned or leased on the fleet.
We look at the risks in your fleet and put in place the relevant training and systems based on risk. This then can increase knowledge on the road and reduce risks whilst saving fuel consumption, reducing the companies carbon footprint, improving the company image and reduce time off work. We can also adapt training to include employee health and wellbeing to promote a healthier workforce.
By having a fleet management scheme in place the company is demonstrating their commitment to health and safety and showing adherence to current legislation.
