CHAS membership is a recurring subscription that gives you access to CHAS membership benefits for an annual fee. Membership starts from the date of payment, but does not automatically give you accreditation.

You become CHAS accredited when you have completed the requirements of the relevant pre-qualification assessment and have your application approved.

If you are CHAS accredited your certificate and profile page will both show the expiry date of your accreditation. 

Once you have completed the application and provided all relevant supporting documentation, the assessment will be finalised within 10 working days. 

• A common reason is failure to declare a prosecution or enforcement notice (Immediate Prohibition Notice enforcement notice or Improvement Notice) issued by an enforcement body such as HSE.
• If you are unable to satisfactorily demonstrate your safety management system is properly embedded in your day to day management of health and safety or if you have declined to provide or complete relevant sections of your application form.
• If you have supplied information or material that is factually inaccurate or if your application and documentation supplied falls significantly below the required health and safety standards.

A designer applies to individuals or practices involved in architecture, consulting engineers, interior designers, temporary works engineers, chartered surveyors, technicians, civil, structural, building services engineering or building surveillance, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
